#906 - 5yr Black Thoroughbred Mare - $400

Registered as "Ritas Law" with Jockey Club - Papers Available

This 15hh black mare was reported to be a 5 year old TB. I did not check her for a tattoo, so unfortunately I cannot confirm or deny that statement. She was calm and polite in the auction ring, and they said that she had been started as a 2 year old. The seller also states that she has no buck, no bite, and will load fine into a trailer.

Sold on 12/13/2011 to Tonya
#909 - 7yr Chestnut Paint Mare - $400

Registered as "An Original Jewel" with APHA - Papers Available

This mare is a 7 year old Chestnut breeding stock Paint mare. I am unsure at this time as to if her papers come with her or not. She stands 15.1hh and has been a broodmare. She was calm and polite in the auction ring.

Sold on 12/13/2011 to Tonya
#904 - 18yr Black Quarter Horse Mare - $350

This black mare was reported to be an 18 year old Quarter Horse crossbreed. She stands in at 14.1hh and was skinny. In the ring she was fairly calm. She has been used only as a broodmare, but they said that she was broke out for riding as a 2 year old.

Sold on 12/13/2011 to Tonya
#915 - 3yr Bay Paint Gelding - $350

Registered as "Drifters Outlaw" with APHA - Papers Available

This 3 year old bay gelding was said to be a breeding stock Paint horse, and his papers are available. He stands about 14.1hh although he may grow some more. He was calm in the ring and they reported that he had been started under saddle a year ago.

Sold on 12/12/2011 to Tina
#913 - 21yr Chestnut Arabian Mare - $325

Registered as "Fascinating Star" with AHA - Papers Available

This chestnut Arabian mare is 21 years old and stands about 14hh. She is a broodmare, and she is reported to not be broke to ride. She was calm in the ring and out back. Something appears to be wrong with her front left knee and it is worse then the other mare's, but she does reluctantly get around on it without much difficulty although from what I could see she does not like to put weight on it when she doesn't have to. That being said, I spoke to the previous owner of this mare and she stated that the mare gets along fine on her leg and in fact loves to run around. Copies of her papers were posted to her stall, and she is selling with them. Her name was listed as "Fascinating Star".

Sold on 12/10/2011 to Jennifer
#918 - 4yr Chestnut Quarter Horse Mare - $400

Not much info was given about this mare. They said that she is 4 years old, but nothing about breed. She is chestnut and was measured at 15hh. They said that she was used as a pack horse and that she had packed out game.

Sold on 12/10/2011 to Lisa
#912 - 24yr Bay Arabian Mare - $375

Registered as "Alluring Danser" with AHA - Papers Available

This bay Arabian mare is 24 years old and stands about 14.2hh. She is a broodmare, but they say that she was broke for Western riding. She was calm in the ring and out back. Something appears to be wrong with her front left knee, but she does get around on it without much difficulty and does not appear to be in pain. Copies of her papers were posted to her stall, and she is selling with them. Her name was listed as "Alluring Danser".

Sold on 12/10/2011 to Jennifer
#902 - 19yr Black Morgan Mare - $400

This black mare is big and raw boned which makes me think of possibly a draft cross or an old style morgan or walker (although she did not appear gaited). She is in decent condition, however there is a very large scarred area on the front of her LH hock but it did not appear to be hampering her any from what I could see of her movement in the ring. She was measured at 15hh, but she certainly seemed to give off a larger presence in my opinion. She is a hunting and packing horse for out on the high mountain trails and she rode well in the auction ring.

Sold on 12/9/2011 to Honey7
#905 - 7yr Buckskin Quarter Horse Mare - $375

This buckskin mare was reported to be an 7 year old Quarter Horse crossbreed. She stands in at 14.1hh and had a sturdier build. In the ring she was fairly calm. They reported that she has had all her ground work done and she did not misbehave anywhere that I saw so I am inclined to believe them. From what I saw, the mare looked like she was very responsive to the owner, listened, and tried very hard to please. She did a few pivoting turns, backed up and was showing how she yields to the owner's movements. The various times we saw this girl throughout the day, she appeared calm and friendly. And that says a lot about a horse coping in an extraordinarily stressful environment.

Sold on 12/9/2011 to Sandra
#916 - 5yr Bay Quarter Horse Mare - $350

Registered as "Etched in Driftwood" with AQHA - Papers Available

This 5 year old bay mare stands about 14hh. She was said to be an AQHA named "Etched in Driftwood" and Ron read off her breeding (which included Driftwood horses), and her papers do come with her. The sellers said that she was a kids' horse, but she did appear to be scared in the auction ring. They also stated that she is very gentle and that you can throw a rope off of her.

Sold on 12/8/2011 to Ryan
#929 - 18yr Gray Roan Appaloosa Gelding - $400

Registered as with ApHC - Papers Available

This 18 year old gray roan Appaloosa gelding stood about 15hh. He is a registered ApHC horse and his papers do come with him. He is stocky, calm, and friendly. They reported him as being a trail horse and he rode well in the auction arena.

Sold on 12/6/2011 to Kevin
#919 - 8yr Gray Quarter Horse Gelding - $325

This 8 year old gray gelding was said to be a Quarab. He stands 14.2hh and was very skinny and dirty. They said that he was broke to ride and he is friendly. Per the daughter, he is not bothered by screaming kids, chickens walking around his feet, ATVs, or any sorts of noise disturbances, and LOVES to be scratched on his back, which he excitedly demonstrated with a long outstretched upper lip! He gets along well with other horses. She also said they have been riding him and he's a doll! Apparently her dad forgot to bring the saddle and that's why he was not ridden through. He was nothing but a gentleman with us (including my 10 y/o nephew), being unfamiliar to him, and was friendly, curious and very sweet!

Sold on 12/6/2011 to casyman
#903 - 14yr Gray Thoroughbred Mare - $400

Registered as "Ruby Anne" with Jockey Club - Papers Unknown

This is a very big, nice mare that stands in around 16hh. She is reported to be 15 years old and she has a lip tattoo which hopefully we will be able to read from a picture later. Her name is supposed to be something like "Rubyann". She has been used as a trail horse in the mountains and back country. In the ring she was calm and rode nicely. Out back of the ring she was well mannered and easy for me to handle. She was quite, listened really well to her rider, had a good trot, moved off of her legs and appeared to be very well trained. No sign of any lameness while I watched her being ridden. Appeared to be a very nice minded mare. There were other horse close by in the parking lot being unloaded with lots of distractions while she was being ridden.

Sold on 12/6/2011 to SCR
#920 - 7yr Chestnut / White Paint Mare - $350

Registered as "Dipped in Ink" with APHA - Papers Available

This mare was my favorite of the day. She is a 7 year old white and chestnut Paint mare. I believe her papers do come with her, but I am not sure of that. She stands about 15.2-15.3hh and has unique coloring; one side of her is mostly red and the other is mostly white. Her face is split on color and the white side of her face has a brown eye, and the red side of her face has a blue eye. She is tall, pretty, calm, and has a good build. She has been a broodmare and came to the auction with her yearling and weanling fillies at her side. She had a B= brand on her left hip and I think it was said that her name was Dipped in Ink.

Sold on 12/5/2011 to Mary
#926 - 14yr Chestnut / White Pony Mare - $250

Registered as "Sara Down Dee" with American Paint Pony - Papers Unknown

This white and chestnut pony mare is said to be 14 years old and stands about 11.3hh. She is a very fuzzy, sturdy, larger pony. They said that she is a kids pony and she sure didn't act like they were liars. She only rode OK in the ring, but what kept her riding from being good was that she was very slow and low energy rather then that she was doing anything wrong. It has now been said that this is a registered American Paint Pony named Sara Down Dee.

Sold on 12/5/2011 to Lisa
#530 - 7yr Bay Trakehner Mare - $400

This mare is a 7 year old bay Trakehner. She is very tall and they said that she was 17.2hh but I doubt it. She needs an intermediate rider but is good on trails and started in dressage. She was very calm. I would put this mare at about 16.3-17hh. She was very respectful and very light in the halter. She backed with her head tucked, and moved her front and hind end over. She picked up her feet and is shod in the back. She was super sweet but did not like her ears being touched. She was not spooky of the rope being thrown around her. Nice lady!

Sold on 11/20/2011 to bethjenk
#537 - 12yr Chestnut Quarter Horse Mare - $400

This mare is of QH type. She is 12 years old and is a chestnut with flaxen mane and tail. Very pretty. They said that she rides and packs, but she was only led through the ring. She is calm and friendly, but her feet were bad. This girl appeared to be more Arab like to me then QH. She was hard to catch at first and very herdbound to the older Arab mare. She walked sound although her feet are very long and one has a good sized crack. She picked up her feet well and stood quiet. She backs, moves both the front and hind end over well. She looks to be a bit toed in, but a trim might help that. She was not super friendly while we were evaluating her, but after she followed us around for scratches. Her face has an oddity to it, it caves in a bit on one side (possibly by she looks like an Arab to me).

Sold on 11/20/2011 to Cindy
#542 - 12yr Chestnut  Stallion - $350

This good looking boy is a 12 year old chestnut stallion of TB type. He was very calm and quiet in the ring. Out in the back he was curious and friendly. This guy was hard to catch and very nervous of people, but wanted so badly to be sweet and do what was asked. Once caught he loved the attention, but everything made him worry. He was nervous of the rope, and took off side ways when I walked by his sides. He does move his front and hind end over and back up, however he exaggerates it because he is so nervous. He picked up his front feet but with as nervous as he was I didn;t ask him to pick up the back, He is over due for a trim. He also seemed to stand funny in the back at times, but he appeared to walk sound.

Sold on 11/20/2011 to bethjenk
#544 - 4yr Bay Arabian Gelding - $325

4yr Bay Arab/TB Gelding. He is a cute horse who rode well in the ring until he gave a little mini-rear and then for safety the rider had to dismount. He's in good condition and is wearing shoes. He is about 15hh, has shoes on that are past due and is rather thin. He is not a spooky guy, but very watchful of everything that is going on. I threw the rope over him and he stood there very quietly. He moves his front and hind end and back well, although he would benefit from more groundwork. He was sweet but wanted to get back to the food. He picked up his feet just fine and was easy to handle the entire time.

Sold on 11/19/2011
#977 - 10yr Bay  Gelding - $400

This guy was sweet, gentle, and easy to handle the entire time I was there. He let me hug his head, mess with his extremely fuzzy (and adorable!) little ears, and let me jump at his side and lean some weight over and didn't even bat an eye. He picked up his feet like a gentleman, backed, lead well, and moved his hips over when I asked. He was not happy about me messing with his mouth, but did let me after a moment. None of the teeth pictures turned out, but my guess is he is around 10 (if I remember right. I looked at the other three also). He has shoes with half pads on, and his right front hoof is in bad shape with half of it kind of just hanging there. He seemed to move ok, he was a little stiff but there was no apparent limping, and there was no heat, swelling, etc anywhere.

Sold on 11/19/2011 to Ruth
#511 - 3yr Black Standardbred Mare - $400

Three year old standardbred filly, she had thirty days training and is ready to go on in any direction you would like, She is an awesome mover and will free jump three feet like it is nothing. Sold on 11/18/2011 to Amanda
#518 - 10yr Dark Bay Arabian Mare - $375

This dark bay mare has been used as a broodmare and in fact just had a foal taken. She is reportedly well broke for riding and was calm in the ring. She is an Arab type, backs, moves front and back when asked and was fine with me leaning weight on her back. She picks up her feet and they look good. She moves sound and was very quiet and sweet. She was not at all spooky about me throwing the leadrope around her.

Sold on 11/18/2011 to Kim
#532 - 22yr Chestnut National Show Horse Mare - $400

This mare is a 22 year old chestnut National Show Horse. She rode well in the ring and was very calm. They said that she is a very good riding horse with hundreds of hours on the trails and in shows. She had very curly hair and was said to have been diagnosed with a metabolic condition. She is about 15.1. She picked up her feet find and dandy and her feet are in good shape. She was fine with the rope being thrown everywhere, although gave me a slight grouchy face when I jumped by her side. She backs, and moves her front and hind end. She was quiet, gentle, and sweet.

Sold on 11/18/2011
#534 - 10yr Bay  Gelding - $400

This guy was the sweetest! He is about 15hh, easy to catch, gentle and loved attention. He backed and moves his front and hind end over very well. He seemed to walk ok, but at times appeared off. He was fine with me jumping by his side and leaning weight over, and having the rope thrown around him. He was the only one who I didn't get teeth pictures of, but he appears to be youngish.

Sold on 11/18/2011 to Kim
#535 - 12yr Bay Thoroughbred Mare - $350

Registered as with - Papers

This mare was called Petra. She is a 12yr bay OTTB mare. They said that she had been shown hunter and jumper, but that she also rides Western. She was calm in the ring and they said that she rides good for anyone. She is about 15.3 - 16hh. Seet and gentle she loved the attention. She is shod in the front and picked up all her feet well. She does have a cut on her knee as well as scabs on her face and under her jaw. She was fine with the rope being thrown around her, and with leaning my weight on her. She backs and moves her front and hind end over very well.

#526 - 14yr Gray Appaloosa Gelding - $400

This boy appears to be around 14 years old and 14.3hh. He is a little fat but is otherwise in good condition. He was very nervous when he came in, but he was friendly and calmed down quickly when someone paid attention to him. They say that he is broke to ride, but not for beginners. He appears to have full vision and let me pick up his feet easily.

Sold on 11/17/2011 to Rebecca
#540 - 20yr Dark Bay  Gelding - $375

This black gelding was said to be between 20 and 25 years old. He was very calm and sedate in the auction ring, whereas many horses are scared or nervous. He was a little thin, but overall was in good condition and good feet. He seemed to be pretty friendly and wanted to lick the salt from my hands. This guy is tall, probably around 15.2hh. He walks off in the back, not quite stringhalt, his legs kind of swing outwords and are a bit stiff. Otherwise he moved fine. He backs, moves his front and hind end over and was overall just a sweet, quiet old guy. He was fine with me throwing the rope all over him and with me leaning my weight on him. He picked up his feet and they were in good shape. I dropped the rope and he did not move an inch until I asked him to. Nice boy! He had a hard time chewing the alfalfa and will need his teeth done.

Sold on 11/17/2011 to Connie
#525 - 22yr Chestnut Quarter Horse Gelding - $400

This boy was said to be 22 years old. He is a chestnut gelding of QH type. He rode well in the ring and was said to do trails and Western Pleasure. He has been trained using natural horsemanship and is said to be up to date on everything. This guy is big, about 15.2 - 15.3. He backs, moves his back and hind end, was fine with the rope and me jumping by his side. He was perfect with his feet and they are in good shape. He seems to move sound. While we were there he took a nasty fall, and his mouth bled for quite some time after. He might be sore from that. This poor guy needs to get out of there, he is getting chased around by the others like crazy.

Sold on 11/12/2011 to msroyalcutter
#529 - 15yr Chestnut Quarter Horse Mare - $400

This 15yr Chestnut QH mare rode well in the auction ring. They said that she was trained using natural horsemanship methods and that she has been used in 4-H. She apparently is good with cows and Western Pleasure. She is about 14.3, picks up her feet and her feet are in good shape. She backs well, moves her front and back end over and was fine with me jumping by her - not at all spooky. She was easy to catch and quiet, and loved being scratched.

#520 - 8yr Bay Thoroughbred Mare - $400

She picked up her feet but was spooky about her rear ones. She was very spooky and hard to catch, but wanted to be good. She moved sound and has shoes on all four feet. She is about 15.2. She spooked when I jumped by her side. Pretty girl!

#533 - 15yr Black Arabian Mare - $400

This black mare appeared to be an Arab. She isn't in good condition, but she was calm. They said that she was in foal to a Friesian stud and she does appear to be very pregnant. She is probably due very soon, her bag appeared FULL today. She is about 15 years old, very quiet and picked up her feet when asked. She has an old injury on her right hind that is large and ugly but seems to not cause her any discomfort. She also has scars on the left hind. Her left eye is cloudy but she seems to see fine, and she walked sound today. She did not mind me jumping at her side or leaning weight over, and she was fine with several people touching her udder.

She is about 15.1 and was grumpy the moment I walked up to her. She never acted on it, just kept her ears back. She was a little slow and lazy about backing and moving her front and hind end over and was unsure about me jumping by her side. She picked up her feet but was lazy about it. Very pretty.

#303 - 4yr Gray Roan Appaloosa Stallion - $300

This gray roan stallion appears to be 4 years old and is the colt of the golden appy mare. He seems halter broke but is not in great condition. His feet are very long and he walks strangely - which are likely related. He stands at 13hh and doesn't seem to be able to see well.

Sold on 10/13/2011 to AuctionHorses
#304 - 12yr Gold Appaloosa Mare - $400

This little mare was said to be 12 years old and is a grade appy. There is some debate going on as to her color... maybe she is champagne, maybe she is some kind of palomino... I don't know. She is a goldish color with pink skin and dark eyes - very pretty in my opinion. She has a very nice and compact stocky build. She stands between 13.2hh and 14hh. She does need her feet done, but otherwise appears to be in good condition. She is friendly and appears halter broke, but is probably not broke to ride. She is the mother of the 4yr appy stallion and I was told that they had been kept together.

#274 - 20yr Chestnut Quarter Horse Gelding - $400

Flit is an approximately 20 year old QH gelding. He has been used as a rope horse and barrel horse mainly. He has done some gaming and lots of trails. This summer he packed out a bear and has also packed elk I was told. I have only had him for a short time. in that time he has been a really good boy. He has good feet and is utd on deworming and has been a nice horse to have around. I would not recommend him as a beginner horse as he tends to be on the hotter side. But he would make a good horse for someone to learn to rope or do the games that has been riding for a while. He was ridden through and rode nicely. He was calm in the ring and said to have done trails, gaming, barrels, and packed elk.

Update - we know where these horses came from! "He is a Quarab and he is probably about 6 or 7. His name is Drake. He has been out to pasture for a long time and his owner has been trying to re-home him and a few others she has for awhile now." According to the owner he has had some handling in his past but is not broke to ride.

Se stands about 14.3hh and is very attached to #642. Her feet are somewhat bad, but from what we could see she appeared clean legged. Update! From the previous owner regarding the chestnut: Her name is Melody and she turned 3 in May.Her mom is 3/4 arab and 1/4 mustang. Her dad is registered 50/50 Morab. She can be the dominant mare in the herd. Loves carrots and grain and although not handled much, should be a good horse once trained. Melody is very smart. She is a thinker. Her grandmother used to untie ropes and undo clips. If she attaches to someone I think she would take very good care of them

Two older geldings have been dropped off in the kill pen. They are skinny, sway backed, and very attached to each other. They won't go through the auction and are available for $100 each. Both these boys are wearing shoes and the lighter colored one is very friendly right off the bat, but the darker one was a little shy at first before warming up.

This bay and white mare was said to be a Saddlebred. She was said to be 13 years old and that seems accurate. She was scared in the ring but was said to be broke and gaited. Out back she was calm, but did not seem to be overly friendly. She was a smaller mare and stood at about 14hh.

#622 - 4yr Gray  Mare - $375

This dark gray filly appears to be 4 years old, but I'm not even remotely sure what breed/type she would be. She was run through the auction loose, but she is very cute and in good condition. After the auction I went out back with her and she was so friendly that she was trying to mug passersby for attention and scratches. I did put a halter on her and move her around and she is indeed halter broke - she also allowed me to pick up her feet without issue. She was super curious about everything, very calm, and engaging.

#606 Aztex - 6yr Gray Arabian  - $400

This pretty gray gelding was said to be a 6 year old Arab Andalusian cross. He was led through the ring and was very scared. He seemed to be a little off on his left hind from where I was sitting, but I did not get a chance to take a better look after the sale. Maybe someone else has more info?

#D5 -  Chestnut Paint Mare - $500

Registered as with - Papers

This mare was said to be registered APHA with papers in the office (to be updated with registered name.) She is in good weight but has bad feet and is scared to death of people. I was eventually able to touch her briefly, but only when and where she wanted. I couldn't get near her head or approach her with a rope. She has various scars on her head and legs. She appeared to be around 15-15.2 hh but I couldn't get close enough for a good estimate.

Sold on 7/13/2011
#D4 - 7yr Bay Thoroughbred Mare - $500

This mare was bossy with all of the other horses; clearly the alpha mare and had been for some time. She was very friendly towards me though. She has scars on her face and her right hind fetlock is enlarged, but did not seem painful. She is about 15.2 hh.

Sold on 7/12/2011
# - 9yr Chestnut Quarter Horse Mare - $500

Registered as with - Papers

This mare is a 9 year old registered AQHA. She is chestnut and approximately 15.2hh+. Pictures do not do this mare justice because she is gorgeous in person! She is extremely smart (I watched her untie herself twice!), very calm, friendly, and dignified. She has a good build and is in great shape. She appears to have stringhalt or something similar in her right hind leg. She really looks like a TB, but she is a papered AQHA mare. Her papers do come with her. Her registered name is Leos Lady Tivio and she was born 4/30/2002 in Lapwai, Idaho. Her sire is Cottons Rocket and her dam is Docs Timely Tivio.

#D2 - 8yr Gray Thoroughbred Mare - $500

Registered as with - Papers

This mare was friendly although reluctant to move because of how bad her feet were - I believe the worst in the group. Her left front seemed to be the most painful. She had halter marks on her face. She has a VERY severe parrot mouth - her lower teeth are so far behind the uppers that they dig into the roof of her mouth, and she has obvious abscesses in her mouth. She is in good weight however. She appeared to be about 16 hands or slightly taller with a stocky build (for a TB.)

Sold on 7/11/2011
#D3 - 8yr Bay Thoroughbred Mare - $500

Registered as with - Papers

This girl was a little hard to catch at first, but I had no problem getting the halter on once I got close and she was the first up for treats after that. She was much taller and narrower than the other mares; around 16.2 hh. She also has very bad feet, and scars on her face. Sire: Defensive Play.

Sold on 7/10/2011
# - 9yr Chestnut Thoroughbred Gelding - $500

This gelding is in pretty good condition, except for his feet which are chipped and wearing only one shoe. He is very friendly, calm, and curious about people. He kept trying to follow us out of there. He probably stands around 15.2hh and his front right knee might be a little larger then normal. He is tattooed. I believe his tattoo to read F45270, and if so he would be "Flyin On Bye". Flyin On Bye is a 2002 gelding by Scherando and out of Bye Bye Boo Boo who is by Fly Till Dawn. Flyin On Bye is California bred and won $52,497 by getting 4 wins, 5 seconds and 2 thirds out of 42 races. Fly Till Dawn's last race was 7/25/10 at Emerald Downs.

# - 2yr Bay Arabian Mare - $400

This bay Arabian filly was stated to be 2 years old and I believe her teeth to match that. She was extremely friendly and came up to greet me as soon as I arrived. She was the calmest, friendliest, and most well behaved of all the babies. She is halter broke and easily picks up her feet.

Sold on 7/7/2011
#632 - 8yr Bay Arabian Gelding - $400

This bay gelding was led through the ring with no information. He was very scared, and freaked out in the ring. When we examined him out back we came to the conclusion that he was probably a 7-10yr Arab cross. He was super friendly in the back even though he was mouth shy. He is in good weight and appears clean legged but has badly chipped feet. He stands about 15.1hh.
