# Svetlana - 6yr Bay  Mare - $300

Svetlana is a pretty mare, around 6 years old and about 15 hands tall.  She's at least halter broke and leads okay, but I don't know if she knows much.  She's was very skittish when she was separated from her friend, but wasn't mean and she wanted to do the right thing.  She needs an experienced person who she can bond with., in my opinion.  She has a pretty nasty cut on her right front leg.  She's a bit ribby and needs some groceries, but with some time I think she's going to be a very nice horse.

Other on 9/14/2018
# Sozia -  Bay  Mare - $300

I will update this when I get more information. Sozia did not want to be caught or handled, so I don't know how old she is.  She kept pinning her ears and posturing when approached, and I didn't push my luck.  She stands about 15.3 hands, and looks to be at a decent weight.  That said, she is fully bagged up and I don't know if she just had a foal pulled or if she's about to have a baby.  As of now, I'd say she should go to an experienced person who will give her time to bond.  She is at least halter broke, and the kill buyer said that she loaded and hauled well in a stock trailer, and reluctantly picked up her feet.

Other on 9/14/2018
# Red - 20yr Chestnut Appendix QH Gelding - $200

Red is a handsome gelding that should shine again in no time with good care. I can honestly say I believe this is a wonderful horse who has had a rough time recently. He looks like he was once well taken care of, and his teeth and hooves appeared to be in good condition from what I could see. I am no expert by any means, but to me it felt like he had had a dental in the last few years and his teeth did not appear to me to be the issue with him not holding weight. He did not seem to have any issue with eating hay or the grass I gave him, and there was no apparent quidding. Red behaved like a gentleman who knew groundwork and manners, and I would guess him to be broke, especially being a gelding at his age. I loved visiting with this horse. He soaked up attention and had such a forgiving kindness about him. He is said to be a Quarter Horse, but looks to me to be more of a TB running bred type so he is listed as an Appendix. He was surrendered as abandoned to the sales barn with a short note that did say he was about 20 and he had been recently vaccinated and wormed. They did not give his name so he is listed here as "Red." Red stands approx 15'2-3hh and will need weight and some TLC. His skin needs to be treated and he appears to have blanket sores at the end of summer where his skin has been rubbed off, His stomach appears to me to have a fungal issue and the sores on his back are healing but should be treated. He has many misc. sores all over his body and what looks to be an itchy groin area as well. I did not see any visible soundness issues at a walk or light trot. He needs rehab, but in my opinion, he should not be a longterm patient and recover fairly quickly with good nutrition and care. In his note it said he is allergic to alfalfa. Red comes right up to you and picked up his feet for me with just a reach for them. He seems eager to please and very gentle and kind. I am hoping he gets the best home as he is truly a special horse.

Sold on 9/9/2018

# Sparkles - 17yr Roan Varnish Appaloosa Mare - $300

Sparkles is a 17 year old mare whose baby was just ran through the sale at ESP. She isn’t sound and won’t be ran through the sale. She was looked at by a vet today and the diagnosis is that she is 100% not rideable, not even by tiny people. She has DSLD and this is a progressive disease. She also has a heart murmur. Other than that, she seems to be in good health. She is not in pain. She needs a soft place to land. The vet said she could have months, she could have years, there’s no way to tell. But she is a very kind mare who is starved for some TLC. Information provided by Misti. Thank you!

Registered as "DUN TWO CLASSY" with AQHA - Papers

Champagne Class was led through auction and had not been ridden in 5 years, but was ridden today and did well. She will need a tune up but did not protest or do anything bad. They said she would be best suited for an intermediate rider when she ran through auction due to her time off. She was previously used as a ranch mare working cattle, was roped off of, and is said to be a good girl overall. She was sold as sound and looked to be sound at a walk, but her hooves are terrible and have been neglected. She will pick them up but not easily, and is said to not be good for the farrier. She is easy to catch, leads well, loads well, and stands quietly, but will need someone to work with her on picking up her feet so she can get them taken care of.

#456 Vermouth - 12yr Chestnut QH/Morgan  Gelding - $500

Vermouth was said to be in the 12-13 year age range and broke to ride. I was told he was a little too much horse for his past owner and I do not know what level of rider he takes, but he did have what appeared to be saddle marks on his back. He didn't have any visible issues that I could see, other than being due for a trim. He was shy in the pen today but was curious and seemed to just be unsure of his new surroundings. I would guess him to be approx 15'2hh. He seemed to have a nice kind eye and gentle but shy personality.

#451 Valentine Flora - 16yr Red Roan Quarter Horse Mare - $400

Registered as "Flora Sis" with AQHA - Papers Unknown

This mare is said to be 15'1hh and was used as a brood mare, but was said to be broke to ride. She was very easy for us to handle and very gentle on the ground. She loved attention and seemed to be a very easy going and smart mare. They said she was not currently bred. Overall she looked to be in decent condition with no visible issues, other than needing a bit of weight in my opinion. She picked up her feet nicely and her hooves could use a trim, but weren't bad. She had a small scrape or blanket rub on her withers, but it looked like it would heal up just fine. Photos of her brand are posted in the photos and I do not know the status of her papers so at this time she is sold as grade until registered paper availability can be confirmed.

#03 Tina - 17yr Chestnut Quarter Horse Type Mare - $400

Tina is said to be 17 years old and was sold at auction because she can no longer work long days. They said she neck reins and is leg responsive. Her stall note said she is good with kids and ladies, has worked cows, is good in an arena and trails, is good for the farrier and easy to catch, and UTD on vaccines and wormer. They said she was just trimmed a week ago, and her vices were that she does not like baths and is touchy with her ears. Auction Horses volunteers have not seen her in person and these are the only photos we have at this time.

# Umma -  Bay / White Morgan/Paint Mare - $500

Umma is said to be in her early teens and stands approx 15hh. The previous owners who had her for only a short time said they saddled and lunged her and she did well, but they never got on her. I was told she is friendly, easy to handle, and nice on the ground. AH volunteers have not seen her in person and these are the only photos we have at this time. Her deadline is Friday morning, 1/12/18. Please contact Sam with any questions or to view. This is added from someone who knew her: "15 yr old Morgan paint mare. Was solid on trails(crosses water, bridges, rides down the highway, good with dogs, horses, loved kids) needed work in an arena BUT my indoor was small so maybe she just needed more room to move out. Can be cold backed is she sits. Needs a flex tree saddle and cinched up slow. I always lunged her first before riding like I do every other horse I would ride. Good in stall or pasture but need dry pasture. She is insulin resistant but its easily monitored with diet..she has a knot on the hind ankle, has had 3 vet checks(at different times) and was deemed sound by each of the vets. Can possibly get those records."
