DescriptionIdella is about 15 years old, if I remember right, and stands right around 14.3 hands. She was calm when I saw her, and I got the feeling that she didn’t feel very well. She did what I asked, but didn’t have much energy. She was off on a hind leg, so I gave her a dose of bute and then I had surgery so I haven’t seen her in a few weeks.
*Update*
This pretty little mare is super sweet and easy to handle. She walked right up to us in the pasture. She can be easily led around with just a rope around her neck(Dani and I had some tack issues). She is really sore on her left front foot, it is cracked and had really bad flairs, with a tender sole. I think with shoes she would be much more comfortable until that hoof can be trimmed regularly and get back in shape. She was much more comfortable when we put an easy boot on her. I did sit on her, she stood absolutely still for mounting and was completely calm, I unbridled her while on her back. That said, when asked to walk forward, she would not, she just stood. She may be more cooperative when her foot does not hurt. I think she is in her mid 20's based on her teeth but her legs look good and I saw no soundness concerns outside of the one hoof. She is really a sweetheart and might make a nice leadline horse for the grandkids or a great pasture pet. She has pretty bad rain rot on her back which will need to be treated and does have bite marks from other horses. She is separated from the others now.
Note: The chestnut and white is not available.
