DescriptionThis sweet mare has been tucked into the quarantine pen and living there since the end of October. I don't have recent pictures of her as I didn't know she could be listed while in the qt pen, but she is actually doing well in there, got over her snotty nose, andhas just stayed in there. With less horses in there, she does not have to compete for food, but is not sick. She came in thin from someone who typically sells horses for Canadian slaughter. My guess is she was rejected for slaughter to Canada so she was sold to the lot to go to Mexican slaughter. The photos and video I have are from when she first came in and she has been on full feed since then gaining weight. She is a swaybacked little old lady sweet as pie that would make a great companion and huggable best friend. She wants to please, does everything you ask her to, and loves any attention she can get. She has come to the end of her residency, is at shipping weight, and needs a place to call home and retire instead of shipping to slaughter. When bringing home a new equine it is always wise to practice quarantine procedures.
Horses coming from an auction or kill pen environment present a higher than average likelihood of having been exposed to disease or virus.
It is highly recommended that all horses purchased be subject to a 30 day quarantine prior to being introduced to healthy equines.
