DescriptionThis mare has really touched me. I saw her in the trailer before the auction tied with the others and she just had this look like she had given up but welcomed me petting her nose. I wished her a speedy journey and walked away...
After the auction there was an opportunity to purchase her and the grey mare off the slaughter truck that was heading to Mexico. She was purchased and joined this group as available for rehoming. She seemed to be in complete disbelief to be able to come off the trailer. Her journey was long and hard on her. It is unknown where she originated from but she and the grey mare were both rejected for slaughter at the Canadian border.
Miracle is hurting and lame on both fronts. It's hard to say if it is just because of lack of hoof care and a long hard journey, or something more serious. There was no noticeable heat or digital pulse and she was able to pick up all of her feet for me even right off the trailer. When she starts walking she does better than the initial first steps. She is thin and not in good condition but her spirits were much higher and she seemed to come back to life with a little attention and love. She is an older mare and has a tattoo. She stands approx. 15'3hh.
