HistoryGus was found on Skagit County Craigslist where a friend of the owner's saw him. The previous owner immediately went to get him and brought him home. He had originally been rehomed to a horse and pony farm where he taught many children to ride. After that, he went to a family that had a child taking lessons there. They ended up no longer being able to keep him so he went to yet another home who neglected him until he ended up on Craigslist. Gus was vetted upon arrival and started on Adequan the first day, Cosequin, and Naproxen but the pain treatment plan did not manage his pain. DescriptionGus was euthanized because of unmanageable pain due to hoof issues, severe arthritis, cancer, bouts of collic, and all over pain. Gus would go down and would not be able to get up without assistance and had sores from struggling when he was down. She was not anticipating having to rescue Gus, and the vet bills associated with his initial treatment and care so Rainbow Bridge funds were used to help with euthanasia costs.
