DescriptionOxana is a bay Appaloosa mare whose color has varnished. She stands about 15.1hh and is a very stoutly build mare. Oxana just exudes quality and it is easy to see that this mare was once someone's pride and joy. She is a very classy girl. We don't know how old she is, but she is an older mare. She has been a broodmare for the last ten years and prior to that she was a trail horse. She was well mannered, sweet, and polite, but she was nervous and every now and again would take a step too close. She picks up her feet nicely, leads, ties, backs, yields her quarters and braces herself for weight on her back. She was a higher ranking horse in the group. She has a bunch of old scars on her hocks that are likely from breeding hobbles, a big scar on her withers, and she is slightly lame in the front. A wonderful farrier was present today while we were assessing the horses and she evaluated Oxana. It was her opinion that the mare was currently experiencing laminitis and that with care she would likely improve dramatically.
